What belongs in a DNS handover note?

Read TTL in the context of your review

The remaining cache lifetime is not necessarily the TTL originally set in a control panel.

Questions for your notes

Is an export a complete DNS backup?

Useful notes identify the complete names and record types that were queried, with a timestamp. An apex result does not cover every service subdomain. Do not label one “All types” export as a backup of the entire DNS configuration.

Does “All types” include every subdomain?

No. It queries common types for the name you enter. Subdomains, service records and email authentication records require their own complete names.

Why can this differ from my DNS control panel?

These answers come from a recursive resolver and can reflect its cache, proxy settings or provider-specific features. Compare TTL and the actual configuration; a single lookup is not a global propagation test.
